Famed Iran director Davood Mir-Baqeri is set to helm new series depicting life of the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) companion “Salman the Persian.”
Historical series focusing on popular figure of Muslim legend and the Prophet’s Iranian companion Salman is currently in development, a media report said, quoting the director as saying that the series is expected “to be made on the largest scale.”
The helmer also said the series will be filmed in Turkey, Morocco and Armenia.
Mir-Baqeri has directed and/or written movies such as ‘The Miracle of Laughter’ (1996) and ‘The Visitor of Rey’ (2000).
He has also made a number of series, including ‘The Wolves’ (1986-1987), ‘Rana’ (1988-1990), ‘Imam Ali’ (AS) (1991-1996), ‘Lost Innocence’ (2002) and ‘Mokhtarnameh’ (2004-2009).
According to the director, his new series is at the casting stage with more updates on the way .
